Kathryn Slater is our Interactive/New Media Specialist and manages the DSA Media Network interactive division: DSA Online . Her keen interest in new and immerging media trends and technology has lead her to become a rich resource with knowledge and energy when it comes to research, planning and buying. Slater is often asked to offer insight and planning resources to incorporate online solutions to traditional media plans and has helped many clients make the transition to online over the past 3 years.
Slater worked at DSA Media for 4 and a 1/2 years as a buyer/planner prior to taking on the role of interactive/new media specialist. She has experience planning for both large and small accounts. Slater has a keen interest in research and technology, and enjoys drilling down into the numbers to better see the larger picture. She has executed radio, online, out-of-door and print campaigns as well as set up contracts for long term negotiation across all media.
Slater has worked on such accounts as Hillside Shopping Centre, Envision Financial, Save-On Foods/Urban Fare, The Brick/United Furniture Warehouse, AdFarm, Sasktel, Hotel Grand Pacific, Harvard Broadcasting, Calgary Stampede, Canadian & BC Cancer Foundations, and Saskatchewan Government and the Federal Government (Health Canada and Social Development).
Kathryn enjoys standing up and presenting so her gregarious nature has lead to several teaching engagements. She has been touring the country to present best practices for online buying & planning and an extensive introduction to online media class. Pairing up with David during some of his teaching engagements at Universities and Colleges across Canada, Kathryn has had the opportunity to spread the word about new and emerging technologies available to western Canadian clients, publishers & agencies.
Kathryn is the self-proclaimed geek of the bunch and enjoys computers, comics, and crocheting. She is commited to finding ways to become more "green" both inside and outside the office. She looks forward to the opportunity to add more ecologically friendly projects to her protfolio and enjoys providing socially-responsible themes and solutions to business plans where applicable. Kathryn has been a transit rider for the past 10 years, and is going on 4 years as a vegetarian. She also enjoys a good alliteration.
