Sam has moved through the ranks of full service and media specialty agencies since 1997. As such she has worked alongside various marketing/agency departments and multiple partner creative shops. Sam understands the various nuances of each element that generate a successful media campaign; from strategic account management, creative, and production, to the planning, negotiation, booking, sound fiscal management and administration of media.
Sam brings to the DSA team media experience in nearly every sector; including national, provincial, and municipal political campaigns, retail, financial services, tourism, entertainment, broadcasters, corporate/franchisee programs, business to business, public service, and charitable organizations across Canada.
Sam is a self professed “media geek” who is very passionate about the media she researches, plans and executes. That being said, all who work with her would agree that her nature is to nurture. This shines through in her leadership of the DSA team and her hands on approach to the needs of our clients. She fully invests herself not only in the success of the media campaigns but in the team that helps pull it together every day.
Her strong social conscience and commitment to personal investment in the community has led her to become involved with a number of industry organizations and charities. In the media community, Sam is currently the Treasurer and an Executive Board Member for the National Advertising Benevolent Society West, sits on the Bureau of Broadcast Measurement’s PPM Implementation Committee and is a former member Association of Broadcast Communicators and Vancouver Media Directors Council. Her charity work includes fund raising for Athletes-In-Kind, Big Brothers, the United Way, BC Breast Cancer Foundation, BC Children’s Hospital and the BC SPCA’s End Animal Cruelty campaign to name a few.
It makes perfect sense to have her lead the DSA Media Langley office as she is a self proclaimed “lifer” when it comes to spending her days in the Fraser Valley. Having lived in Maple Ridge her whole life (her daughters are 4th generation Maple Ridgers), Sam is thrilled to be doing what she loves most on the east side of all “the bridges” for the first time in her career.
Media is only one of the many loves in her life. Sam’s time away from the agency is usually spent with her two daughters. It seems her girls share Sam's affliction to “always having to be doing something”. They can usually be found in the "mom taxi" heading to a rehearsal, lesson or performance, in an auditorium, or working on a project together.
